Quick Answer

Do I really need a Super Duty?

Only if your loads outgrow the F-150. A properly equipped 2027 F-150 tows up to 13,500 lbs. Past that point, or if you want a diesel or a gooseneck or fifth-wheel setup built for heavy weight, the Super Duty is the right tool.

What Ford Changed on Each Truck for 2027

Both trucks got meaningful updates, but in different areas. On the F-150, Ford focused on powertrains and towing tech. On the Super Duty, it focused on off-road packages.

2027 Ford F-150

  • A new standard 3.0L EcoBoost V6 replaces the 2.7L. Ford says it delivers roughly 10 to 11 percent more torque where everyday driving happens.
  • The 5.0L V8 is available again from XL all the way to Platinum.
  • BlueCruise with Towing allows hands-free driving on qualified divided highways with a trailer attached.
  • XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum get new grille and wheel designs.
  • New entry-level Tremor and Raptor versions make the off-road models easier to get into.

2027 Ford Super Duty

  • The Tremor Off-Road Package is now available on all Super Duty models, including XL with the STX Appearance Package.
  • Tremor can now be paired with a Crew Cab and an 8-foot bed.
  • The new XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire Package adds a factory lift and locking rear differential with no decals.
  • Platinum trim becomes available on the F-350, F-450, and F-550 Chassis Cab.
  • Neptune Blue and Iconic Silver Metallic join the paint lineup.

Trucks That Fit East Windsor Life

Our Route 130 showroom sits close to Turnpike Exit 8. That's where Mercer County's warehouse traffic, the farms around Hightstown, and weekend trips toward the Shore all meet.

Some local drivers need a comfortable daily pickup. Others need a truck that can handle a loaded equipment trailer. We'll help you figure out which one you are.

Talk Trucks With Us

Commuting Toward Princeton

Does your truck spend weekdays on Route 571 and weekends at the hardware store? An F-150 with the new 3.0L EcoBoost or the PowerBoost hybrid covers both without heavy-duty bulk.

Equipment Trailers on Route 130

Landscapers and contractors pulling skid steers or loaded dump trailers often go past half-ton limits. That's where an F-250 or F-350 with the 7.3L gas V8 or the diesel earns its keep.

Farm Work Toward Monmouth County

Hauling hay, livestock trailers, or gooseneck loads across western Monmouth County calls for Super Duty hardware. An F-350 or F-450 with the diesel handles the heaviest of those jobs.

F-150 vs. Super Duty FAQs

Should I buy an F-150 or a Super Duty?

Start with weight. If your heaviest trailer stays under the F-150's 13,500-lb maximum rating, the F-150 is usually the more comfortable everyday choice. If you tow more than that, or want a diesel or a gooseneck setup, step up to a Super Duty.

What is the new base engine on the 2027 F-150?

A 3.0L EcoBoost V6 replaces the 2.7L EcoBoost. Ford says it matches the old engine's peak capability while delivering roughly 10 to 11 percent more torque in everyday driving.

Is there a hybrid Super Duty?

No. Ford lists the 2027 Super Duty with a 7.3L gas V8 or a 6.7L High-Output Power Stroke diesel. If you want a hybrid Ford pickup, the F-150's 3.5L PowerBoost is the one to look at.

What is BlueCruise with Towing?

It's a new 2027 F-150 feature that allows hands-free driving on more than 130,000 miles of qualified divided highways while you tow. It works on any BlueCruise-equipped 2027 F-150, from XLT and Tremor up to Platinum, with an active BlueCruise subscription.

How much more can a Super Duty tow than an F-150?

A lot more. The F-150 maxes out at 13,500 lbs. The Super Duty F-250 reaches 22,000 lbs conventional, and a properly equipped F-450 is rated up to 40,000 lbs with a gooseneck hitch.

Can I get a Carhartt edition of both trucks?

Yes. The Super Duty Carhartt Package is available on XLT and is already shipping. The first-ever F-150 Carhartt comes on 4x4 XLT crew cab models, and Ford expects it in early 2027.
