The svelte and undeniably attractive 2017 Ford GT attracted the attention of millions around the world when it debuted at the Detroit Auto Show in 2015. Now, with its arrival on the market looming, the Blue Oval is giving us some insight into the work that went in to make this car the Le Mans-winning champion it is. One component of this is its aerodynamic design.

While aerodynamics are usually great boons for gas mileage in traditional cars such as the Fusion, Escape, and F-150, in a super car like the GT, the benefit is speed. Thanks to a lightweight frame, low body, and rear-mounted engine, Ford's latest track beast has plenty of that. However, to put all 600-plus ponies to good use, they have to make sure the air around the car is used efficiently. To showcase the thought that went into it, Ford recently posted a video (seen above) that highlights the aerodynamic testing.

Attention to detail is important for a car such as the GT, but the same goes for other models in the brand's lineup. To experience these qualities for yourself, stop by our Ford dealership in Windsor, NJ, and we'll sign you up to take your chosen model for a spin.
