The Ford C-Max has been scheduled for release early in 2017, and it certainly isn't a car you will see everywhere. Even though it looks ordinary, the technology used in the car is quite amazing, and it is certainly going to be considered a breakthrough as far as the automotive industry is concerned.
The car is supposed to have mileage numbers that are tremendous and very low CO2 emission levels. The new C-Max is going to have a tough task though in proving itself since there is a lot of competition in the green market and the economy, because of high taxes and regulations, is teetering at recessional levels. Its rivals are waiting impatiently for the C-Max, and so are some citizens as well. The specifications look solid on paper but how will it work on the road?

People love seeing a number of engine options with new cars. But that's only true when you are buying something sporty. Here, there are other things that matter like mileage, fuel consumption, space, and comfort. This car has all of that under control.
C-Max 2017 has a 2 L Atkinson 4 cylinder petrol engine that can produce 141 hp and 129 lb-ft of torque. It also has a 35 kW electric motor which takes the total horsepower up to 188. The car only comes with FWD and the CVT distributes power to both wheels.
What's unique?
One of the unique things about this car is the 21 solar cells which harvest solar energy which charges the lithium-ion batteries. The batteries used are 25-30% smaller and around 50% lighter than regular NiMH batteries that current hybrid vehicles use. This means the car weighs less which means the engine has to work less hard to propel the car and you forward which is better for the fuel mileage rates.
Performance wise, the car doesn't light up the score card, but it can go from 0-60 in a reasonable 7.8 seconds. It maxes out at a top speed of 85 mph. When it comes to fuel economy, the numbers are pretty impressive. It can go 42 miles on a gallon in the city and 38 on the highway. The combined mileage for the car is 41 mpg.

The interiors are lined with high-quality materials including leather upholstery and trims. There is enough space in the cabin. Apart from regular features like Bluetooth audio connectivity, electric windows, and mirrors, Bluetooth phones, audio system, adjustable seats, etc. the car also has the new Sync 3 interface and an 8-inch infotainment display to replace the MyFord touch from early versions.
This is functional car. You can do a lot with it. Professionals can use car and get work done. This is a high tech car and you can be productive no matter who you work for or what you do while driving the C-Max if you are away from the office.

Outside, the new C-Max looks cool especially considering it's a family hatch. It is not really a head turner but it is not supposed to be. It will not pull your boat or a load of wood but it does not tell you it can or will.
It surely wins the crown for the best-looking vehicle in its category though. This is even though people tend to wonder why hybrids are designed in such a weird way. The front fascia is dominated by sharp edges and the standard Ford grille. The edgy headlights come with LED technology. The car also has fog lights on either side of the bumper.
The official price for this car haven't been announced yet by Ford and comparing it with current models isn't going to do us too much good since there is so much new technology in this car.
The current model is on sale for around $22,000, but the C-Max will certainly cost a little bit more considering all the additional features it gets. A few thousand dollars isn't going to be enough to deter us from buying the vehicle, though. We can't wait to take this car on the road in the first quarter of next year. Not a car this efficient and useful!
