In its most thorough episode of “Ignition” ever, Motor Trend is giving us a look at just what the exciting, new 2017 Ford Raptor can do. While the latter half covers what can be done with an experienced enthusiast like Ken Block behind the wheel, the first half covers the basics—which as it turns out, aren’t so basic.
We’ll let you watch the clip for the Ken Block portion. In the first half, we get some winning insight into just how much more potent the 2017 truck is compared to the outgoing model. First and foremost, is its off-road rated, high strength steel frame. While lighter, it has been designed not to bend when performing jumps. There’s also the matter of its performance, which is covered in an acceleration test in the desert. Not only does the Raptor hit a quarter miles in 13.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 107 mph, it can go from 60 to 0 in just 140 feet.
If this whets your appetite to try the Raptor on for size, we don’t blame you, and our Ford dealership in East Windsor, NJ would be happy to help. Shoot us a call or text to schedule a test drive.
