This autumn, the refreshed 2018 Ford Mustang will arrive in dealerships with revised looks, new equipment, and upgraded engines. In this blog post, we’ll cover the changes to the models boasting the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. In addition to receiving a bump in power, EcoBoost-powered models also get a nifty feature known as “line-lock.”

First, the power. The EcoBoost engine available in this version of the Mustang retains the 310 horsepower of last year’s model, but the torque increases to 350 lb-ft. A six-speed manual is standard, but a ten-speed automatic gearbox is an option. That’s the transmission—along with the Performance package—that enables a sub-five second sprint to sixty. Also in play is line-lock, a form of launch control that will keep the front brakes locked for fifteen seconds, and allowing the rear drive wheels to spin. All told, the EcoBoost Mustang will be more fun to drive than ever.

Arriving this autumn, the 2018 Mustang will offer plenty of goodies for long-time and new drivers. To learn more, contact us at our Ford dealership in East Windsor, NJ and set up a test drive. You can also stay tuned for our post on the Mustang GT.
