In the last year, the world has experienced some immense natural disasters. From earthquakes to fires and tropical storms, it seems like the entire year was filled with them. The largest natural disasters experienced by the U.S. this year were the wildfires in the west of the country, and the hurricanes and natural storms that hit the south.

Florida, Puerto Rico, and Texas were the three most affected areas by the hurricanes and storms. Of the three, Puerto Rico is still in the worst shape. The island is still largely without power. Additionally, parts of the island are isolated, and people have had trouble reaching stations where they can get help.

This is a significant problem; however, companies and nonprofits have reached out to provide aide. Ford is chief among these group. The company has just recently invested $1.2 million into the island in order to bring food and community aide to the area. In addition to direct aide, the company has provided grants for collegiate students so that students can help heal the island as well.

What is important about the aide that Ford is providing is how it will be administered. Ford has provided two Transit Connect cargo vans and an F-150 to be used in the program. They will travel across the island and function as mobile resource centers. This will bring help to the people in remote areas who previously have not been able to receive aide. It’s a long process, but Ford and other groups are taking steps to help the area heal.
