Ford, its employees and its dealers have committed to helping the victims of hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The hurricanes, striking Texas and Florida respectively, have wrought some pretty serious destruction. Both hurricanes hit the mainland at the beginning of the month; Harvey hit Texas, and shortly after Irma followed suit with Florida. Ford and its employees are giving a lot to the relief effort.
Between Ford’s dealers, employees, and the company itself, Ford is providing quite a bit of aid to organizations helping in both states. In Texas, Ford may provide up to $3.5 million between all levels of their organization. This is because Ford promised to match their employee and dealer donations up to $1.5 million. Meanwhile, Ford vowed to match the donations to the Florida relief effort from their employees and dealers up to $150,000.
Donating money is not the only way that Ford is helping the victims of the hurricanes. Many of people who suffered through the hurricanes lost a significant amount. In fact, many people lost nearly everything they own. Ford is attempting to help these people by making it easier to get a new vehicle. Ford has extended assistance bundles to the victims of the hurricanes, which allows them to purchase a vehicle at the price that Ford’s own employees receive. Additionally, they won’t be required to make payments until next year.
