Many of these new ventures come in the form of mobility projects. In the ever-changing world, mobility is king. Ford has made it its goal to provide better mobility for the world and its customers. The new mobility project that Ford has undertaken involves food, and the fresh production of it.
The company has launched the first ever Ford Mobile Farm. The farm is based in Detroit, and will provide residents with fresh-grown healthy food. The project, an idea formulated by young company minds, was constructed to help alleviate the hunger issues that plague parts of the city.
The farm contains two parts, a production side and an education one. For production, Ford has chosen a large shipping container and converted it into a hydroponic garden. The garden should yield a lot of food, with 52 harvests expected. Additionally, the company outfitted an F-150 with a garden planted in its bed. This mobile garden will travel to area schools and provide hands-on education. In a mobile world, Ford is looking to provide mobility answers to growing fresh food as well.
