As time passes, consumers often what the future will hold for the automotive and mobility industries. On the grand scale, automobiles are rather young, so the technological advances in the industry over such short times are revolutionary. As consumers become more environmentally conscious, their desires alter.

Many customers and residents of urban and city areas have become aware of how much pollution all of the vehicles within a city pour into the air. This is why changes are being made to the structure of mobility in many cities. This particularly evident within cities in Europe. Many European cities are leading the charge towards better mobility options. This is one of the reasons that Ford launched its Chariot fleet in London.

The Chariot commuter service is Ford’s answer to the changing needs and desires of residents within cities. The service is composed of artfully designed Transit vans that can transport 14 passengers comfortably throughout the city. The Chariot program is not designed to replace public transportation. In fact, it is designed to complement existing public transportation.

The goal of the program is to work with public transportation in order to free up the roads. The clearer roads within a city are, the better the commutes are. Additionally, this is better for the environment. When public transportation and transportation services like Chariot work together, there is less need for people to use their own vehicles. This provides a more harmonious city existence. This model may become the staple in cities across the globe as mobility continues to evolve.
