Ford is the leader of many vehicle industries within the United States. One field that the company excels in is commercial vehicles. As the leader in this sector, Ford continually introduces new vehicles into the mix. Ford’s two newest additions to the commercial fleet are both taxis; the new 2019 Transit Connect Taxi and the 2019 Fusion Hybrid Taxi.

Imran Jalal, brand and communications manager for Ford fleet marketing, explained the versatility of the new vehicles in a statement.

“Taxi operators want vehicles that are reliable, efficient and comfortable," he said. "Transit Connect Taxi and Fusion Hybrid Taxi offer all three with special attention to potentially help lower fuel costs. Plus, Fusion Hybrid underscores our commitment to introduce even more efficient and capable hybrids in the future.”

Both of these new vehicles have their own specific uses, which they are built to excel at. The 2019 Transit Connect Taxi comfortably seats five, with ample space for all passengers. Additionally, there is significant space for the passenger’s luggage, 60 cubic-feet to be exact.

The 2019 Fusion Hybrid Taxi, on the other hand, was constructed to have the best fuel efficiency among purpose-built taxis in the company’s fleet. Ford has been able to achieve this by utilizing parts from the 2019 Police Responder Hybrid Sedan, increasing its durability and performance. The taxi features a suspension taken from the responder, along with steel wheels. In addition to being durable, and able to take the wear and tear of constant daily driving, the new taxi also has exceptional gas mileage, with a combined estimated 38 mpg.

Ford’s new taxis are built for comfort and performance, with both the driver and passenger in mind.
