The Ford Motor Company and popular country music star Luke Combs have recently teamed up in order to donate $25,000 worth of custom guitars to American military veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
The money generated from these instruments will be used to further expand a program created by an organization known as Guitars 4 Vets, which seeks to alleviate these symptoms through the power of music.
“Ford has supported the military and veterans for nearly a century, and Luke Combs has paid tribute to the brave men and women of our armed services,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service. “Working with Combs and Guitars 4 Vets is a great way to continue helping veterans as part of our Proud to Honor initiative.”
To bring further awareness to the cause, Combs will appear alongside the all-new Ford F-150 in the lead-up to his performance at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards, which airs tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS.
This special television moment shows Combs arriving at a Guitars 4 Vets meeting in an F-150, surprising multiple veterans with his donation of multiple custom-made Ford “Proud to Honor” guitars.
Proud to Honor is a military service initiative created by Ford which aims to raise awareness and strengthen existing programs in order to create an even more meaningful connection with our brave service members.
