Ford Pro Intelligence, formerly Ford Commercial Solutions, was created to decrease downtime and reduce ownership costs for commercial customers. This subsection for Ford Pro is committed to delivering digital services that help their customers to manage and maintain their fleets for increased productivity, performance, and efficiency. Ford Pro Telematics Essentials is one of their most useful tools, and now its electric-oriented equivalent, Ford Pro E-Telematics, is up and coming with Ford’s commercial electric vehicles.
Ford Pro Telematics Essentials is a web-based application that is available to all commercial Ford customers using gas-powered vehicles with embedded modems. This service is offered to customers as complimentary for the life of their Ford vehicle, making Ford the only automaker to do so. This service makes vehicle data more accessible while also providing other new features to customers that will help them increase the productivity of their fleets.
“No matter how big or small a commercial fleet may be – and whether it’s fully electric or not – vehicle data plays an important role in improving uptime and efficiency,” said Brent West, general manager of Ford Pro Intelligence. “Both Ford Pro E-Telematics and Ford Pro Telematics Essentials provide fleet managers with key information and abilities through an intuitive interface – at no additional charge.”
Ford Pro Telematics Essentials offers data to fleet managers in order to help them optimize the functioning of their vehicles for maximum efficiency. Such data includes instant odometer readings, recall notifications, trackable maintenance alerts, details about engine hours and oil life, and much more. Because this is a web-based service that draws on information from the vehicle modems, managers don’t have to rely on their drivers to notice or report any issues.
This service isn’t only available to fleets of gas-powered vehicles– Ford has eyes on the future, and electric vehicles are about to become the next big thing for commercial fleets. The E-Transit and the F-150 Lightning Pro will both include access to Ford Pro E-Telematics, which will help to ease the transition to electric fleets.
Ford Pro E-Telematics allows fleet managers to utilize an online dashboard that contains reports on battery range, charger locations, state of charge, and energy consumption. Notifications are also used to ensure that vehicles are always charged and ready to be used. Ford Pro E-Telematics can use scheduled preconditioning when vehicles are connected to the grid, allowing managers to do things like bring the vehicle cabin to a desired temperature while it’s plugged in, in order to preserve battery charge for driving. The platform can also be used to pay for public charging and reimburse employees for home charging, a function that was created not only for convenience but for fraud protection as well.
Ford commercial customers can enroll in the service and begin optimizing their fleet operations here.
