2022 Ford Ranger Splash: Back In A New Retro Package

Ford Ranger fans, rejoice! Ford recently announced that its calling back to the mid-90’s with a distinctive and limited-series version of the Ford Ranger. First produced between 1993-1998, the new 2022 Ford Ranger Splash has just been revealed as a revitalized retro model of the 90’s edition with all the bells and whistles of modern compact pickups and a unique selection of color options. 

Because over 80% of Ford Ranger consumers love to personalize their pickups, the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash will come with two different styles – a standard Splash Package and the Splash Limited Edition. The differences are that the Splash Package will come with orange paint and black graphics on the body of the truck, with unique 18-inch wheels covered in a sleek matte finish. The Splash™ Limited Edition will feature glossy black accents on the grill along with orange grill nostrils. The limited edition model also has more glossy finishes on the rearview mirror caps, truck wheel moldings, and vents along the fender.

“Ranger customers love to personalize their trucks...and with Splash, we’re giving them something exclusive,” said Chad Callandar, Ford Ranger marketing manager. He went on to describe how every few months, the Ford Motor Company is going to introduce an additional exterior color for the Ranger that will be offered as a one-time option with mere hundreds of vehicles available. According to Ford, the Splash – Snow Edition starts the first round of this.

The new retro Ranger’s interior includes unique, comfortable seats with orange contrast stitching and exclusive leather trim. The contrast stitching also appears across the steering wheel, along the gear shifter, and on the parking brake boot.

The 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package arrives with an MSRP starting at $1,495 and will only be available for XLT and Lariat SuperCrew models. Initial deliveries of the resurrected 1990s classic are slated to begin closer to the end of 2021.
