With the success of vehicles like the F-150 Lightning, the Mustang Mach-E, and many others, it’s no surprise that Ford is doing well on this side of the Atlantic. However, Ford is also reaching impressive heights in Europe this year as well. The numbers are in, and Ford Pro was officially Europe’s commercial vehicle sales leader in 2022. This is the eighth consecutive year that Ford Pro has enjoyed market leadership in Europe, and this milestone sets a new record in the industry.

“Setting a new record of eight consecutive years of European market leadership demonstrates how much our commercial customers rely on Ford’s vans and pickups to deliver for their business. As we roll out our unique platform of software, charging and services across Europe, we are determined to ensure Ford Pro remains our customers’ trusted partner for productivity,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe.

Ford Pro is the commercial vehicles and services branch within the larger umbrella of Ford Motor Company. In 2022, it recorded its highest-ever overall market share of 15%, and also increased its share year-over-year in eleven different countries: Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, and Turkey.

The success that Ford Pro has earned over the course of the last year is thanks in large part to the Ford Transit Custom. Last year, the Ford Transit Custom was the best-selling one-tonne van in Europe again. The Transit Custom was also the best-selling vehicle overall in Britain. Ford’s market leadership in Britain is up to a remarkable 57 consecutive years. In 2022, Ford Pro announced the all-electric E-Transit Custom, which will be the electric successor to the Transit Custom and is eagerly anticipated by European Ford Pro customers everywhere.

The all-electric E-Transit van launched last spring as part of a major roll-out of new products and services, and the van proceeded to lead monthly sales in the two-tonne EV van segment from June last year onward. Ford Pro also unveiled its integrated platform of software, charging, servicing and financing, which was purpose-built to accelerate the productivity and sustainability of businesses of all sizes across Europe and make switching to electric vehicles like the E-Transit easier, more efficient, and more accessible.

Also announced in 2022, the all-new Ford Ranger has been strengthening its segment leadership. This past year marked eight straight years that the Ford Ranger has spent as Europe’s most popular pickup.

More great things are sure to come for Ford Pro in Europe as we continue into 2023. If you want to keep up to date on all of the latest Ford news, make sure to continue reading our blog!
