The 2023 results for the Edmunds Top Rated awards have finally been announced, and Ford took home multiple wins this year. The Ford F-150 was named the Top Rated Truck of the year, and the Ford F-150 Lightning became the Top Rated Electric Truck and the Best of the Best out of all the vehicles Edmunds rated this year. Ford is the most recognized brand in the Edmunds Top Rated Awards for 2023.
Edmunds has been around for over 50 years, serving as a trusted name in car information, which makes these awards an honor for Ford to win. This year is also the third consecutive year that the F-150 has spent as the Top Rated Truck, marking Ford’s innovation and how it has contributed to the industry standard in trucks.
The Edmunds Top Rated vehicles of each year are tested and ranked by the Edmunds editorial team during an intense process, which has recently been updated to include the Edmunds EV Range Test, specifically for electric vehicles. The groups of finalists include each of the highest-ranked eligible new vehicles in their class. Vehicles must have undergone the full Edmunds testing process by November 1, 2022 and be available for sale on January 1, 2023 In order to be eligible. Winners are chosen from these pools..
“For decades, the Ford F-150 has been America’s workhorse,” said Alistair Weaver, Edmunds Editor-in-Chief, “and it’s never been in better shape. It’s more innovative, more appealing to drive and more versatile than ever before. Nobody understands the needs of the modern truck buyer better than Ford and nobody builds a better truck.”
“It’s hard to overestimate the importance of the Ford F-150 Lightning,” Weaver continued. “Electrifying the most popular vehicle in the U.S. [F-Series] was a project fraught with risk, but Ford nailed the brief, brilliantly. The result is a better kind of truck and one that will stand at the vanguard of the electric revolution for years to come… [The F-150 Lightning] embraces the advantages of electric technology to create a better truck for truckers. This isn’t a lifestyle toy; it’s a working tool in the best tradition of the F-150. The heart of America is in robust health.”
