For 10 years, the Ford Ranger has been Europe’s top-selling pickup truck, maintaining a strong position in a highly competitive market. In 2024, Ford Pro saw a 4% increase in Ranger sales, bringing the total to 60,400 units sold in Europe. This impressive figure represents nearly half of all pickup truck sales in the region, with the Ranger securing a commanding 43.6% market share.
What makes the Ranger so popular among European drivers? The answer lies in its exceptional combination of performance, versatility, and durability. Whether it’s for work, leisure, or everyday family use, the Ranger has proven to be a reliable choice. Its towing capacity, off-road capabilities, and robust payload capacity make it an ideal solution for customers across various industries, including construction, farming, and transport.
Ford’s commitment to evolving with customer needs is evident in the upcoming European launch of the Ranger PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle). This all-new model delivers an impressive 43 km of electric-only driving range and 697 Nm of torque, the highest of any Ranger to date. With the Ranger PHEV, Ford is offering an environmentally friendly option without sacrificing performance. The new truck also features Pro Power Onboard, which allows users to power up to 6.9 kW of tools directly from the truck’s battery, eliminating the need for an external generator.
The Ranger PHEV is expected to arrive in Europe in spring 2025, further cementing Ford’s place as a leader in the pickup market. As Hans Schep, General Manager of Ford Pro Europe, says, “Our all-new Ranger PHEV will use electric power to take the pickup experience to the next level.”
