The waterwheel-powered trash interceptor is genius in its simplicity.
The current of the Jones Falls River makes the waterwheel spin. As it spins, it powers a conveyor, which picks up floating trash and debris, and deposits it in a dumpster where it can be collected and disposed properly.
In its first five months of operation, it picked up 100 tons of trash from Baltimore Harbor, and has inspired other around the globe.
That's the kind of thing we love to see at Haldeman Ford. It's no secret that Ford Motor Company is one of the world's leaders in corporate responsibility when it comes to water conservation.
In fact, in 2015, the CDP named Ford Motor Company an A-List leader in water -- the only North American automaker to receive this honor, and one of only eight companies in the entire world.
If believe clean water is a right for all, test drive a new Ford vehicle, and feel proud for supporting responsible water use.
