Ford Uses ‘Empathy Suits’ For Enhanced Vehicle Innovation


Ford Motor Company is using a pair of specially-designed suits to better engineer vehicles for various drivers and passengers. These “empathy suits” mimic what’s it like to be both pregnant and elderly to help Ford engineers build vehicles that are comfortable and safe for various demographics.  

The suits are designed to help Ford engineers empathize with what customers have to go through on a day-to-day basis, allowing vehicles to be improved to accommodate all customers.

Ford To Explore Partnership With Volkswagen


Ford has announced that they are exploring a potential partnership with the Volkswagen Group that could result in multiple joint projects between the two automotive manufacturing companies.


The companies announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that will commit the two sides to further talks regarding projects that could “strengthen each company’s competitiveness and better serve customers globally,” according to Ford.


The companies revealed little about potential projects, but did note that would could involve jointly developing a range of commercial vehicles.
